Voorhees College

Founded in 1897 as the Denmark Industrial School, Voorhees College has evolved into a private liberal arts college serving the ethnically diverse population of South Carolina and the southeastern United States. Voorhees College was modeled on Tuskegee University, and bears the imprint of Booker T. Washington’s vision for black education.

Drawing from its heritage as an industrial trade school grounded in the liberal arts, Voorhees College continues to offer an applied professional education founded on a core arts and sciences curriculum. Voorhees College counts among its academic strengths its programs in liberal studies, arts and sciences, and pre-professional fields. The Business & Professional Studies Division includes programs in criminal justice, organizational management, and cyber security, as well as general business administration.
